This 15th Anniversary reissue of Tiffanie DeBartolo's classic love story introduces a new audience of dreamers to a quintessentially real and raw vision of spirit, and inspires everyone to live — and love — as vividly as possible.

This book …

My heart …

I saw Tarryn Fisher recommend God-Shaped Hole on Twitter, and there was this inexplicable something that told me I needed to read it. Tarryn and that feeling did not lead me astray, because lordy was it good! I knew for sure it was going to be something special when I read the Forward and DeBartolo discusses how Jeff Buckley and his music inspired her to write this book. I also knew right then that I was in for a world of hurt. I couldn’t wait!

I became completely consumed with 27-year-old Beatrice and 29-year-old Jacob. They’re both such compelling characters who I can’t get enough of. Their love, their lives, their journey is absolutely beautiful and moving. I’m seriously kind of obsessed with their relationship. I love how they could be serious and have deep, meaningful discussions, but also be playful and witty. They aren’t perfect, but they are certainly perfect for each other.

I can’t even tell you how badly I needed this! It made me feel in a major way with so many glorious emotions. My heart soared, but it also shattered. There were definitely tears involved.

I couldn’t quit reading and stayed up until 2a.m. to finish. I couldn’t sleep afterwards, though, because I just laid there thinking and absorbing it all. It continued to occupy my thoughts the next day, and I suspect it’s something that will stay with me for a very long time.

God-Shaped Hole was originally published in 2002, but was reissued for its 15th anniversary. I’m incredibly grateful it was, because I probably would have never known about it otherwise. Believe me, it stands the test of time. It’s a favorite for me, for sure! ♥
